We now have availability from October 2020. The house is a good base for exploring the South Coast area and Hampshire. It makes an excellent base for anyone working in the local area, with good access to Gosport, Fareham and surrounds.

3 upstairs bedrooms and 1 downstairs bedroom
A fully equipped four-bedroomed house with 1 double bedroom, 1 twin and 1 small single. I downstairs bedroom close to living area, kitchen and new wet-room We provide linen (duvet covers,sheets and bath towels).

Downstairs wet-room with shower, sink and WC. Upstairs bathroom - bath/shower, WC and sink.

The new kitchen extension is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, cooker, fridge-freezer, utensils etc washing-up liquid and tea towels provided. Kitchen island. Bifold doors to patio area. Utility room has washing machine and tumble drier.

Location & Surroundings 

The Chart House in Lee-on-the-Solent
is one road back from the seafront, 100 metres' walk round to the beach on a residential road. From the seafront, there are panoramic views to the Solent and Isle of Wight. Lee-on-Solent High Street is a 0.6 mile walk (8 Minute walk) to the local shops, pubs, tea rooms and gift shops. Long promenade along the seafront is flat and there is a good children's play area on the front. Local wildgrounds are great for walking and bird-watching.

From Fareham take the road to Lee-on-the-Solent. At the High Street turn left. High Street merges with Cambridge Road. The Chart House is at the end of Cambridge Road (No 4) on the left.

The Wider area
There are easy links to Portsmouth to see the Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf Quays, the Spinnaker Tower, Southsea and the Harbour. The New Forest, Itchen Country Park with Go Ape, Manor Farm ,and Paulton's Park are great places to take a younger family and are around a 30 minute drive away. Chichester is a 40 minute car drive with the Festival theatre and Cathedral, Roman Villa and Bosham of historic interest.

Directions & Getting Here 

Arriving By Train: From Fareham Station to Lee-on-the-Solent is 5 mile journey. From Portsmouth Harbour - take Gosport ferry and bus from Quayside to lee-on-Solent (Inn-By-The-Sea stop)

Our minimum charge for a week is £650. Our prices per week depend on length of the stay and number in the group.

Additional Details 

The House
We have hired the Chart House as a self-catering cottage since 1996. Many people come to stay to be close to relatives, for family events or simply to have a break on the South Coast - walking, cycling or visiting the main attractions of Portsmouth and the South coast area. We have had visitors from all over the world.

The Owners
Brook and Marion bought the house next door- Chart House- in 1996. We have endeavoured to provide a comfortable stay for anyone hiring the house. In 2000, we started to hire the indoor swimming pool on the back of our home to local groups and anyone renting the Chart house can make use of the pool, subject to availability.

Enclosed patio/garden with chairs. Off-road parking.
