Bedrooms & Sleeping
The four upstairs bedrooms.Bedroom 1 is a double bedroom at the front of the house with fitted wardrobes, dressing table, chairs and bedside tables with table lamps. Bedroom 2 is a double bedroom at the back of the house with a wardrobe, dressing table, chair and bedside tables with table lamps. Bedroom 3 is a twin bedded room at the front of the house with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, chair and bedside table with table lamp. Bedroom 4 is a single bedroom at the back of the house, with a combination wardrobe/dressing table, a chair, small bedside table with table lamp.
The downstairs bedroom.This is a single bedroom on the ground floor at the back of the house. It has a wardrobe unit with shelves and hanging space, a chair and small bedside table with table lamp.
Living & Facilities
LoungeThe lounge is comfortably furnished with two large sofas, a large armchair and upholstered stool. ( A small extra armchair is available in the dining room if needed.) There is a TV with teletext and freeview, video recorder/player, DVD player, bookcase with a selection of books and a wireless internet connection. A living flame gas fire is fitted.
Dining roomThis has a dining table with 6 chairs (extra chairs available in the kitchen if necessary), a sofa, small armchair, and 2 bookcases with books, videos and dvds.
KitchenThe kitchen is well fitted with cherry units and built-in appliances including electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer,washing machine and dishwasher. There is a built-in breakfast table with seating for four. A toaster and good supply of dishes, cutlery etc is provided.
BathroomThe bathroom is on the first floor. It has a bath with thermostatic shower over, wash-hand basin and WC.
Shower roomThis is on the ground floor and has a walk-in shower,wash-hand basin and WC.
GardenThe enclosed garden is in front of the house. It has a lawn with trees and shrubs around for privacy and is ideal for taking a breath of fresh air. There is quite a large patio area with ample seating for 8 people. It is very sheltered and a good sunspot.
Parking areaThere is a private, off road parking area in front of the house. It takes 3 ordinary size cars, probably only 2 large ones.
Location & Surroundings
The cottage is about 4 miles west of Swansea. It is almost on the flat, near the seafront. The main shopping area, pubs, restaurants and churches are very near. Mumbles public library is directly opposite. From the back door it is only a short walk to Oystermouth Castle.
The village has many restaurants, pubs and bars to suit all tastes. There are several parks, two with children's play areas. Tennis, crazy golf, bowls, cycling and water sports are available in the village. Lovely sandy beaches are within easy walking distance and the Gower (Britain's first "Area of outstanding natural beauty" is close by. Swansea city centre is about 4 miles away.
The promenade, which is only a short walk from the cottage, stretches from Swansea along the coast through the Lido at Blackpill and Mumbles Village to end at Mumbles Pier. The Pier has various facilities including cafes, a pub, some entertainment and a small sandy beach. Beyond the Pier and the headland the other beaches begin, first Bracelet Bay then Limeslade followed by a coastal path across to Rotherslade and onwards.
Mumbles Hill, above the village, is a nature reserve with wonderful views across the bay.
Directions & Getting Here
Arriving By Car: Take junction 42, signposted Swansea, from the M4, then the A 4067 to Mumbles. In the village go straight across the mini roundabout at the "White Rose" public house then take the next right into Dunns Lane. No 10 is a little way up, on the right.
Arriving By Train: Train to Swansea. Taxi to cottage (about 4 miles) or local buses, one from Railway station to Bus station, another to Mumbles. The Mumbles bus stop is less than 5 minutes walk away from the cottage.
Arriving By Bus/Coach: Coach to Swansea bus station. Take taxi to the cottage or local bus to Mumbles. Mumbles bus stop is less than 5 mins walk. Local buses run every 15 mins in day, 30 mins evenings.
Nearest Airport: The nearest airport is Cardiff, Bristol and the London airports may need to be used. Leaving the airport take the train or coach to Swansea then follow instructions given above.
